Aaliyah Haughton also known as the Babygirl was an american R & B and hip
hop singer and an actress. She obtained worldwide fame as a singer in the
nineties and starred in several movies. She was born on January 16 1979 in
Brooklyn, New York in the USA. Unfortunately she died on August 25, 2001
in a plane crash in the Bahamas.
Although born in Brooklyn she was raised in Detroit. As a teenage girl she
met R.Kelly, who assisted her with the production of her debut album "Age
Ain't Nothing But a Number". This album was released in 1994 when she was
only fifteen. The album included the number one hit "Back And Forth". This
album was followed by "One in A Million" in 1996 and "Aaliyah" in 2001.
The Album "I Care For You" included the soundtrack hit "Try Again" from
the movie "Romeo Must Die".
In 2001 she was on the Bahamas to record a video. Unfortunately she died
when the Cessna, she was in, crashed shortly after take-off on its way
back to the USA.
