Carrot Top manages to irk you and make you laugh at his jokes that are as cheap as his props in this wacky tale. "Chairman of the Board" follows the over the top Carrot Top (actually playing a character, if you can believe that). The friendly zany one just inherits a business from a nice old surfer guy he meets (oddly predictable). Of course, Carrot Top's ideas seem to dumb so that they may topple the business, but he actually is a slow learner and with a little help from his girlfriend (Courtney Throne Smith) he manages to get the place up and going. Larry Miller plays the straight man, bad guy trying to take over the company. The battling between the hipster and the greedy business man makes for some laughs. The movie is funny, but it's pretty stupid. I think it's the best that he could do for sure. The fact is that the shtick of Carrot Top doesn't easily translate into a major motion picture. Carrot Top's act is a sight gag with a bunch of props that lasts a good 5 minutes on a talk show or at best 20 minutes on stage. It's hard to do that prop thing for an entire film and the chemistry between him and Smith just isn't there. They just don't go together. Still a very funny flick and worth checking out. Have an Imagination...and Sense of Humor I have read some of the reviews for 'Chairman of the Board' and I must say that I am very dissappointed. This movie is amazing if you have a sense of humor and a little imagination. I don't think it was meant to be "realistic." Carrot Top is a comedian, and therefore his movies will reflect that. There was no chemistry between him and C.T. Smith, and to some, his jokes, props and gags weren't funny...but, that's the way it was written. Carrot Top isn't romance based in his career, do you expect this movie to be perfect? This was a very impressive movie. I have watched it repeatedly, probably over 100 times. Anyway, I think that unless you have an amazing sense of humor and a wonderful imagination (and are open-minded) this would be a great movie to check out. I know I can't wait for my son to be old enough to watch and enjoy it. Carrot-Top at his best...I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! I was a little unsure about buying this movie. I mean, I love his stand-up comedy, but his commercials really get on my nerves. Nonetheless, this movie really surprised me. My friends loved this movie too. It's HILARIOUS and very creative. While the story is somewhat familiar, that doesn't take away from the creative spark this movie offers. The acting is great and the jokes are very funny. The camera work, editing and special effects are all top notch and it doesn't appear to be a B Class movie. I love the gadgits he showcases in this movie. He's brilliant in this movie and I remind myself of that every time I see one of those stupid commercials(I understand he has to pay the bills too). <BR>If you like slap-stick comedy, with an edge, you'll love this crazy movie.
