He was born on October 25, 1950 in Yor. Between 1975 and 1982 he was the lead singer of the successful band Smokie. In 1982 he leaves Smokie to start a solo career. He is not very succussful until 1986. The German producer Dieter Bohlen writes the song "Midnight Lady" for Chris. It reaches the number one position in Germany and top ten positions all around the world. This hit was followed by a smaller hit "Some Hearts Are Diamands", which was also a ballad written by Dieter Bohlen Two years later Chris Norman came to Hamburg to record a new single with Dieter Bohlen, called "Broken Heroes". According to Chris it was crap, but he records the song and it reaches the number 3 position in the German charts. But Dieter Bohlen is too commercially oriented for Chris and they broke up their cooperation. Afterwards Chris Norman records several albums, but without much commercial success.
