Dream for an Insomniac | Year: 1998 Classification: Romance Directed: - Tiffanie DeBartolo Actors/Actresses: - Jennifer Aniston as Allison - Ione Skye as Franki - MacKenzie Astin Girl wants boy, boy however has a girlfriend Franki played by Ione Skye has Insomnia and lives in a world of black and white until she meets David, played by Mackenzie Astin, the new employee in her uncle's coffee shop where she works. Franki has impossibly high standards for her love and fears that she will never meet a worthy man.Until David steps in that is. Franki and David click immediately--untill Franki discovers he has a girlfriend. Undaughted, she moves to L.A. with her best friend Allison played by Jennifer Aniston. She only has 24 hours to make him fall in love with her. Sure that he will dump his girlfriend and follow her she puts all her faith in fate and hopes for the best. I thought the movie was a great first attempt by DeBartolo and if you are up for a kind of hip '90s love story this is the film to see. Too Good For Words I absolutely LOVED this movie! The first time i saw it it was on HBO and i was so mad that i didnt know the name of this movie.. I didn't even know Ione Skye.. so i looked of Jennifer Aniston and there it was! I dont understand how anyone could ever think any less of this movie.. it was amazing, and there were so many quotes to live by. "We have to settle we so many mediocre things in life. Love shouldn't be one of them" I truly admire Ione Skye and her character, they are both very strong people, and she was great for the part. Aniston should not have been the lead, she was amazing in her own role! charming little romantic comedy for intellectual romantics i had seen the beginning, the middle,and the end of this film but when i finally saw the whole thing it immediately went into my buy it file. i personally liked it because it illustrates so well that sometimes you actually do fall in love w/ the person who really ,truly, is your soulmate.skye's frankie is an intelligent girl we guys could hang out with and astin's david is the intelligent guy that wouldn't make you feel uncomfortable because he doesn't just know all the artsy,obscure stuff. aniston's best friend character is a nice representation of the generic(no offense intended) friend that we all seem to have. all in all this movie was a nice little charmer that also happens to have an excellent soundtrack.great idea by debartolo to use frank sinatra as the cornerstone and centerpiece of an overall good film.
