Fancy Pants | Year: 1950 Directed: - George Marshall Actors/Actresses: - Bob Hope - Lucille Ball Not at All What You Think! I am totally dissapointed in this film and I'm a huge Bob Hope fan. There is no excuse for this sorry film though, Bob hardly does any of his one liners and the film borders on stupidity. Please save your money and get another of his films like Son of Paleface, Where There's Life. Odd, But Alike Lucille Ball and Bob Hope at their best as usual. Such an outstanding performance by both in song and acting. Lucille in control except with mom. Bob, trying to further an actiing career and trying to survive as well. Both in perfect tune with the other.. Not Bad, But Not Lucy This is a cute movie, but it's my least favorite of the Ball-Hope films. Lucy just doesn't fit well into the part of a rough-and-tumble western girl; her beautiful up-state New York accent comes through too well! Also, they didn't allow her to sing her own songs, and it is ridiculously obvious. The film does, however, display Hope's talent pretty well; I'm not a huge fan of his comedic style, but it is show-cased impeccably in the part of an American actor playing a British bulter/earl.
