garfield the movie | Classification: Comedy Actors/Actresses: - Breckin Meyer - Jennifer Love Hewitt - Stephen Tobolowsky Very disappointing Any fan of Garfield who goes to see this movie will be sorely disappointed. The actors casted for this movie were all wrong, for one thing, and none of the characters were like their 2D comic-strip counterparts. The guy casted as John is a good-looking person whose only flaw is his shyness. In the comic strip, women were revolted by John and his corny pick up lines and only liked Garfield, his fat and lazy cat. The storyline is John adopts a dog named Odie from the vet (Jennifer Love Hewitt) whom he has a crush on, just to impress her. Garfield feels jealous of Odie since Odie can dance and wins the ribbon in a dog show, so Garfield locks Odie out of the house one night. Odie runs away and is kidnapped by a jealous cat nip commercial spokesman who uses a high-voltage collar to train Odie. Garfield comes to the rescue. The humor is surprisingly bland and there are very few laughs. I was very disappointed with this movie and cannot recommend it. Great Movie! This movie was great! It was as good if not better than Scooby Doo. This movie tells the story of a big, fat, lazy cat named Garfield. His owner, Jon Arbuckle, has a major crush on Garfield's veterinarian, Dr.Liz Wilson. So when she asks him to take care of a dog, named Odie, for while, he says ok. Garfield is not happy about this! Jon won't pay attention to him anymore; all he does is pay attention to Ode. So one night Garfield kicks Ode out of the house and Odie is not able to be found the next day and Garfield finds out that he has been kidnapped, so he decides that he should go rescue the dog because it was partly his fault. This is where this whole adventure for Garfield begins. This is a great family film! The only thing that is not perfect about this movie is that Garfield is computerized and all the other cats and dogs aren't, so he doesn't look absolutely real. Everyone will enjoy this movie and get a few laughs out of it. It was better than I thought it would be! I thought it would be boring, but I was wrong. This movie is enjoyable the whole way through.
