Katie Holmes is an American Actress and Model. She was born on December 12, 1978 in Toledo, Ohio in the USA to parents Kathleen and Martin. She is famous for her role as Joey Potter in the television series Dawson's Creek. Katie made her movie debut in 1997 in the movie "The Ice Storm". Between 1998 and 2003 she plays the role of Joey Potter in the popula drama series "Dawson's Creek". In between she also plays roles in several movies including the hoor thriller "Disturbing Behavior" in 1998 and in 2000 in "Wonder Boys". She had a relatinship with Chris Klein known from the American Pie movies. In 2005 she starts dating actor Tom Cruise.
