Lawrence Of Arabia | Year: 1962 Classification: Action/Adventure Directed: - David Lean Actors/Actresses: - Martin Scorsese - Peter O Toole - Steven Spielberg The epic of all epics Lawrence of Arabia is truly one of the greatest movies ever made. David Lean's epic tale follows T.E. Lawrence, a British officer sent to Arabia, who organizes the Arabian tribes to fight for their freedom against the Turks. This film has to be seen in widescreen to be fully appreciated. The grandiose scenes of the Arabian desert are spectacular, especially on this DVD. The performances in this movie are perfect. The all-star cast is led by Peter O'Toole as Lawrence with some other huge names backing him up. Also joining him are Alec Guiness, Omar Shariff, Anthony Quinn, Anthony Quayle, Jack Hawkins, Jose Ferrer, Claude Rains, and Arthur Kennedy. All of them are very good with Shariff and Quinn the best as rival leaders who join together thanks to O'Toole's Lawrence. The 2-disc set is well worth the price. Plenty of worthwhile extras as well as the widescreen presentation. Also check out the movie soundtrack, it should not be missed. A true epic that should not be missed by movie fans. Conservatives support slavery? This movie makes the case Hi. My name is Steven Thulen. You might know me from such reviews as "Bowling For Columbine" and "My Life." I am here today to talk to you about "Lawrence of Arabia." While this may shock and astonish you, I will offer a long-winded review without actually discussing this film. I am that good. First, a history lesson. In the year 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue. He landed in Haiti and raped the native there, then enslaved them. Later, many Africans were captured and made slaves by white people. White people continued to terrorize other races throughout the latter half of the 19th Century. Finally, World War I took place. During that war, many people died, including white people. Some people who were too cowardly to serve in the world fled to California, where they became subpar sports writers. Later, World War II took place. In that war, white people dropped atomic bombs on Asians. Peter O'Toole was probably gay and acted really well in this movie.
