Once Upon A Time In Mexico is a brilliant action movie!

"Once Upon A Time In Mexico" is a sensational action flick from the writer/director of "Desperado", "Spy Kids", "Spy Kids 2: The Island Of Lost Dreams", and "Spy Kids 3D: Game Over", Robert Rodriguez. Antonio Banderas returns as El Mariachi, our hero from "Desperado", who is at his best in this performance. Salma Hayek returns as Carolina, in a much smaller role than "Desperado" is great in the scenes that she is in. Johnny Depp is CIA Agent Sands, who is in his best performance of his career. El Mariachi returns out of hiding with the help of Sands, to exact revenge on Carolina's killer by stopping the assassination of the Mexican president that is being masterminded by a drug kingpin named Barillo, played by Willem Dafoe. With the help of two of his friends, he sets off on an adrenaline-pumped revenge that is worth dying for. Sands, with the help of an ex-FBI agent named Ramirez, played by Ruben Blades, these three men are getting a day's worth of work in for them. This movie is brilliant with compromise, Shot in High Definition Video, which was filmed in 2001 and didn't come out until September 12, 2003, which is dynamic and brilliant work at its finest. I liked this movie because it is an ordinary action movie that is better than all of the other action films that are out there today, right now, unfortunately. I recommend that people should go to see this movie because this is fine and masterful filmmaking at its quality best.

Run quick, save yourself.

This movie was such a waste of time. It gets a half star for having semi-decent shootouts and another for a great perfomance by Johnny Depp. Personally though, if you want gunfights you'd do better by renting a John Woo film. By the way whose idea was it to give Enrique a gun. With that said rent at your own risk.

TERRIBLE!!!!

The only reason I gave this movie 2 stars is because of Johnny Depp. As always he overshadows everyone else in the movie with his dark humor and personality, despite the All Star Cast (Banderas, Hayek, Ruben Blades,Enrique Iglesias,etc.).But this movie turned out to be just a confusing and senseless bloodbath.
Buy it only if you are a J.Depp fan. If you are looking for a fast paced fun action movie get Kill Bill Vol.1 or check out 2004's remake of "Dawn of the Dead", both are much better.
