I LOVED IT!

...I have seen this movie soooooooo many times. I havent got around to buying it yet but i do have it in Divx on my computer. I love it!<BR>Wow, I can't believe how many bad reviews this film got all over the internet. I thought it was an absolutly beautiful, beautiful love story. Angelina is wonderful...
Angelina looked stunning. The costumes were oh so perfect. The dresses were beautiful. Antonio was looking mighty fine too.
The sex scenes were romantic, set oh so perfectly with the wonderful score that I adore, it's so beautiful (my favorite is the lovely, but short opening.)
I recommend this movie for any Angelina Jolie fan. She plays quite a different role in this movie compared to Tomb Raider (which was semi-okay, Angelina was the only true good part about it...SHOWER SCENE!) This is one of my favorite movies of all time, as are most the movies she was in like GIA, Mojave Moon, ect.

This movie was TERRIBLE! So I watched twice...

OK, so this wasn't the best movie ever made. DOn't go into this it with any high expectations. Still it was a fun movie to watch. I beleive it appealed to the female tendency in me that drives otherwise educated and sane women like myself, to read cheesy Harlequin Romance Novels.
The story unfolds in what appears to be an idealized antebellum Cuba when a wealthy Coffee plantation owner, mail orders a wife from America. This movie includes all the elements that make up a good chick flick or Romance novel. Antonio Banderas (I LOVE his accent) plays Luis, the sexy and sensitive plantation owner who falls passionalty in love with Angelina Jolies character, Julia, even though she constantly betrays his trust and nearly kills him...a few times.
Then there's Julia (played by Jolie), the beutiful woman with a past who comes initially to rob Luis blind and leave him, but instead falls head over heels in love with him.
This movie has it all: drama, passion, tearful screaming declarations of love, a villain, gun fights, narrow escapes, and mild porn. What more could you ask for? If you are looking for a good chick flick to watch with your girlfriends over a bowl of popcorn and some chunky monkey, this movie is for you. Not to mention lots of shots of Antonio Banderas' butt which is good enough for one star on it own in my opinion. If your a guy and want to see Angelina Jolie's boobies a whole lot, this movie is for you too.

Another movie where Antonio gets kiss by a man

Original Sin (2001)
Antonio Banderas as Luis Vargas Angelina Jolie as Julia Russel
(No true spoilers, anything revealed was revealed in the movie trailers)
Rich man Luis (Antonio Banderas) sends for a mail order bride and Angelina Jolie as Julia Russel shows up. Is she or isn't she the real Julia Russel? Well if you've seen the previews you know the answer to that.
This is a story about murder and deceit for the purpose of financial gain and it's a love story; correction, it's a story about love, according to the narration. Actually to call this love would be stretching it, it's more a story of obsession
This movie has a lot of twists and turns and is surprisingly unsuspenseful. Antonio and Angelina are quite seductive and it's not hard to imagine them being attracted to each other, but love? How do they fall in love with each other? Do they have common goals? An understanding of who each other is deep down? Why they should fall so deeply in love with each other is not shown.
I've read criticisms of the nude love scenes in this movie and unless you are the type of prude who gets upset at the sight of naked cats and dogs which roam the streets and are unable to order chicken breasts in a fast food place because it sounds naughty, you won't find it offensive.
How far would he go for her? Would he kill for her? Is she gonna kill him? These issues are explored in the movie and the story is good but unfortunately it is executed in a way as to be very dull.

An Flawed but Entertaining Flim about Lust, Passion and Love

A Cuban Coffee Merchant (Antonio Banderas) order an Mail-Order Bride (Oscar-Winner:Angelina Jolie) for Marriage but the Husband is Surprise by her Beauty. More Attractive than She Seems to be. Once, they are Married, the Attraction between Them, becomes more about Lust and Erotic Passion than Love but the Lady has a Few Big Secerts and Soon, the Husband is Chasing Her, after his Fortune is Stolen.
Written and Directed by Micheal Crisofer (Gia), Based on the Novel by Cornell Woolrich, brings a Predicatible (That`s the Movie only Flaw) but Sometimes Clever Erotic Thriller is Actually Well Made and Entertaining. Sex is a Major Plot Element in this Film, there`s a few Surprises in this. This was an Box Office Disappointment in Theaters but this Film would do Better on Video. DVD`s has an fine anamorphic Widescreen (2.35:1) transfer and an clean Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. DVD Extras are:The Unrated Version of the Movie, Tralier, Music Video and an Running Commentary track by the Director. Although for all it`s faults, it`s a Good Looking Film. Panavision. Grade:A-.
