The cd that got me into Queen

While this is not necessarily a true "Hits" compliation, it does an excellent job of showcasing the best of Queen's music and the versatility of the band. Looking for a bombastic, epic type song? Got a couple here with "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "The Show Must Go On". Looking for pure hard rock? Crank up the volume and listen to "Hammer To Fall", "Stone Cold Crazy", and "Tie Your Mother Down", just to name a few. In the mood for a sentimental, touching ballad? Got a couple of those on this CD as well with "These Are The Days of Our Lives" and "Who Wants to Live Forever". How about a pure pop song? Got several of those here as well with "Under Pressure", "Radio Ga Ga", "A Kind of Magic" and "The Miracle".
I give it 4 stars because of the great music, because it was the CD that introduced me to Queen's music, and because it has tracks you wouldn't find on either of the UK Greatest Hits 1 & 2 CDs like the aforementioned "Tie Your Mother Down" and "Stone Cold Crazy", plus "Keep Yourself Alive" and "These Are The Days Of Our Lives". However, I subtracted one star because of the way they butchered the song "The Miracle" and because a companion "Greatest Hits" CD was released later that year that wasn't able to Truly represent all of their "greatest" hits in the U.S. because some of them had already been put on this cd. Plus, the gold 2 disk Greatest Hits package is a closer representation of all their hits, despite a few flaws (such as editing of tracks and leaving off KYA and TYMD).

Queen's show will go on

This is one of the better album's I've bought in a while. Before getting this, I borrowed "Greatest Hits" from a friend, and looked at Classic Queen." Later I saw Queen on VH1 Legends, and it was then I knew I had to get it. Once I did, I became hooked. There are so many great songs on this. I get withdrawal when I dont hear "Bohemian Rhapsody" for some time. I also Love "Radio Gaga," "I'm Going Slightly Mad," "These Are the Days of Our Lives," "Headlong," and "Under Pressure," to name some. There is not one song on this album that I don't LOVE! One of the songs that really does it for me is "The Show Must Go On," the last song on Queen's swansong album, "Innuendo." It is exactly what Freddie was feeling inside during that era, in great pain, and forced himself to make music, and he pushed so hard that some of the songs on that album are some of the best vocal work I've ever heard. The end of the song also sends a chill down the spine, as the words "go on, go on" echo and fade out, almost as if Freddie died while recording this. Freddie had nothing to worry about, Queen's show will forever go on.

Hottest hard rock hits by Queen themselves!

Essentially, this 17-track album compilation picking up the story and taking it to the end of Queen's career. But the collection also contains a few tracks like "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Under Pressure" that appeared on that first set, as well as a couple "Stone Cold Crazy" and "Tie Your Mother Down" from the same era. The remaining 12-tracks culled from The Works, A Kind of Magic, The Miracle and Innuendo Queen's own albums. Represent songs that were not big hits in the US. Nevertheless with a resurgence of interest in Queen and the second coming of "Bohemian Rhapsody"courtesy of Wayne's World 1992's motion picture film soundtrack. This album on CD returned Queen to platinum status and the US Top Five for the first time since the early eighties!
