First of all, one person said that the other seasons were entitled to be priced so high because they all had 18 episodes -- but that person clearly has no idea what they're talking about because the first season, priced exactly the same as the rest, had 12 episodes, but no one complained then. If you love the series, and were willing to pay for season one, then there is no reason not to buy season five. Soon SATC will be over forever, and you will have all your favorite episodes to look back on... and with characters who grow and change from season to season, how can you skip one? It doesn't work. Short but Sweet I was extremely disappointed that season five ran only eight episodes. I was especially unhappy to learn this only AFTER I bought the DVD. However, I did get it on sale, and considering the price of renting at Blockbuster helped me to stay relatively calm. After getting over my disappointment at the length, I savored each and every episode. I thought all of them were magnificent; this season I began to really see inside the characters. The actresses have come such a long way; watching season one episodes and comparing them to season five, I could see such a growth in their acting abilities. The writers seem to have found the perfect balance in season five, as well. They balance just the perfect amount of bawdy sexuality with heart-wrenching emotion in these episodes. And watching Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon glow in their pregnancies (and struggle to hide them on screen), I was perfectly happy to give them a break. They don't owe us episodes of our favorite show. I was just happy to be able to enjoy them, and grateful to them for bringing us even eight episodes, considering all they were juggling. A true Sex and the City lover will savor season five all the more for its brevity. Too expensive!!!!!!! I am not rating this season low because of content--the content was excellent--and I realize that the pregnancies of Sarah Jessica and Cynthia are unavoidable...but come on! Don't charge us all the same price for less than half of the normal number of episodes!!!
