Actors/Actresses:

A New approach and it works!

Snow White as horror movie, it sounds preposterous, but in fact it is quite a good idea. Grimm's fairytales can get pretty gruesome too. The creators of this movie made something special of it. Sam Neill is a bit insipid as the father, but Sigourney Weaver as the stepmother plays one of her best parts ever and obviously enjoys being evil. The whole atmosphere of the movie is very gothic and it looks great. It may seems somewhat degrading for horror fans to watch a movie named Snow White, but as the posters say: The Fairy Tale is Over! It is, but what we get in return is a lot better. Personally I am not much of a horror fan, but in this case I could watch this movie time and again.

gothic horror at it's best

Based on the Grimm brother's original version of the fairy tale (which was never meant for children), SNOW WHITE is a delicious gothic thriller pulled off by a superlative cast.
Sigourney Weaver plays the evil Queen Claudia, who begins a reign of terror over her beautiful step-daughter Lili (Monica Keena). After banishing Lili into the Black Forest, Claudia descends further and further into madness. She will do anything to remain the fairest of them all......
Monica Keena again displays why she is one of the most promising young actresses around today. She has also been in WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING and the Hallmark movie THE OKSANA BAIUL STORY.
Also starring Sam Neill and Gil Bellows, SNOW WHITE is truly a real tale of terror. Definately not for children.

A Disturbing Piece

You know the story...or do you? This take on the classic tale is dark and gothic. They don't make films like these anymore. Today, over-the-top gore is the thing. This is scary in a different way.It is disturbing and eerie(SPOILER: Especially the concept of the Queen with her stillborn son).BR> Sigourney Weaver gives her best performance since ALIEN.She takes on a role of madness and edge of your seat insanity. The way she talks into her mirror is so dramatic and expressive. The beautifully designed mirror's expression is evermore the same.BR> The girl who plays Lillian,a.k.a. Snow White, is wonderful. How many girls her age can show fear through her eyes. She shows her best in the ending scene.BR> This is an excellent achievement in horror. It is beautifully filmed and professionally directed. The music makes each scene unique and suspenceful(excluding the parts with the seven miners(a.k.a. dwarves)A must see.
