Strangers with Candy is such a wickedly funny show. I love the dark humor and the acting is incredible. Amy Sedaris is, of course, hilarious as Jerri Blank, everyone's favorite 46-year-old high school freshman, but Stephen Colbert and Paul Dinello are just as hilarious as her callous, unconcerned teachers harboring a secret of their own. And Deborah Rush is wonderfully evil as Jerri's stepmother. Season Two has Jerri dealing with the death of her father, conquering her illiteracy, reclaiming her virginity (or trying to), and befriending a blind student, among other things, all in the show's shockingly hilarious style. Season One is just as good, but by Season Three the quality of the episodes was starting to diminish. Season Two also has a few lackluster episodes but there are more classics than duds. Fans of edgy, satirical comedy will not be disappointed. I was a huge fan of the show when it was on Comedy Central and taped all of the episodes, but as my tapes are getting worn down I am so relieved that the show has come to DVD! I had worried that the show did not have a wide enough following to warrant a DVD release, but thank god it has been released. The special features are great too as it is always a pleasure to hear these very funny and creative minds talk about their work. Almost there...we just need Season 3 now!!!! The best season of one of the best TV series ever made is finally coming to DVD. Its hard to say whether Season 2 or 3 is better, but Season 2 scrapes by as bit better. I can't express my jubilation at the release of this series on DVD. I love this show so much. Get this season, get all the seasons. The show will change your life, and the replay value of these episodes is infinite. This show is so good, despite its tragically short tenure on Comedy Central, that it is being made into a theatre-released MOVIE. Get very excited.
