Summer of Fear | Year: 1978 Directed: - Wes Craven Actors/Actresses: - Linda Blair as Rachel Bryant ... Pretty decent made for tv movie with Linda Blair on the other side of evil, as it were, this time. She plays Rachel, who's cousin Julia comes to live with her and her family after Julia's parents are killed in a car crash. Suddenly, strange things begin to happen that cause Rachel to suspect that Julia is not who she seems. Rachel finds mounting evidence that proves her to be a witch. Won't spoil the ending for anyone who hasn't seen it! What a corker! DVD was just ok, with the only extra being a dull commentary, but I guess that's why it was so reasonably priced. Linda Blair RULES in this Cheesy Horror Flick! I saw this flick for the first time about 20 years ago after reading the book SUMMER OF FEAR by Lois Duncan. The Book was Awesome...so I had high expectations for the film. I have to admit it's not too bad for a TV Movie. Very Tame...but swell casting...You really can't go wrong with Linda Blair and a slueth! I was THRILLED ...I mean THRILLED...to see the DVD Transfer. Better than I remembered it! =^..^= Great Horror TV Movie! Summer Of Fear starts out with a car crashing off of a hill. The people in the car left one daughter-Julia (Lee Purcell). Before going back to a private school, she's going to spend the summer with her cousin Rachel Bryant (Linda Blair) and others. Things go great until Julia is attacked by Rachel's horse, Rachel breaks out in hives and some strange voodoo objects are found underneath Julia's bed. Is Rachel losing her mind or is Julia really a witch? This movie rules! Now available under the name SUMMER OF FEAR, it's the european print that's name used to be STRANGER IN OUR HOUSE.
