The Last Dragon | Year: 1985 Classification: Action/Adventure Directed: - Michael Schultz Actors/Actresses: - Michael Schultz - Taimak - Vanity - Christopher Murney One Cool 80's Martial Arts Flick I remember the first time I saw this film and even though the acting is not first rate, the fighting sequences are. But, call me silly, I love the dialogue. I mean, come on, Sho Nuff, the Sho-gun of Harlem. CLASSIC!! And Sho Nuff calling him Bruce Leroy, another great line. Plus Vanity is looking oh so scrumptous. Despite what other reviewers say, I think the music works find for the film, especially the song, You are the Last Dragon during the final fight scene. And was the acting really that bad for a film of this caliber? We have seen worse acting in other martial arts films and besides, martial arts film are about the martial arts and not the acting. Every time this film comes on, I watch it. It is one of those guilty pleasure and I am glad I decided to buy the DVD. I haven't found too many people who hated the film. It sure beats trying to figure out a Woody Allen picture. Anyway, The Last Dragon is all about having fun and it was one of Berry Gordy's first productions, and everyone can forgive first productions. I just find a certain amount of joy in this one. Thats just my view. Enjoy! The Last Dragon This was one of the few movies that I saw in the theater more once. (I even sat in the first row one time.) On one level, "The Last Dragon" is a spoof of martial arts movies, peopled with bad guys Sho' Nuff (Julius Carry is a scream!) the self-proclaimed "Shogun of Harlem," and video magnate-wanna-be Eddie Arkadian (sp?). They're idiots, but are serious threats for the movie's hero, Leroy. Leroy is a Bruce Lee wanna-be to the point of being a nerd, but his heart is truly good, and this leads us to the second level of the movie: the path within, and where true mastery may be found. Leroy's sifu sends Leroy on that journey, for he can teach Leroy no more. The rest is up to our hero. A chance encounter with veejay Laura Charles (Vanity) lead Leroy to think there might be more to life than martial arts. The soundtrack is great, the action is great (look for Ernie Reyes Sr. and young Ernie Reyes Jr. together in a fight scene) and the message of the movie is timeless truth. steveo i first saw this video when i was 10 years old.I THOUGHT IT HAD BEEN DISCONIUED,then finally i come across it again this is one cheesy film but i love it to pieces Buy The Last Dragon at Amazon.com Buy posters at Allposters.com Jamster - the latest ringtones for your phone! ![]() Search with Walhello on the Internet on The Last Dragon Search with the Priority Search Engine on The Last Dragon This page in other languages: Suomeksi | Nederlands | Deutsch
