The Very Thought of You | Year: 1998 Classification: Comedy Directed: - Nick Hamm Actors/Actresses: - Monica Potter - Joseph Fiennes great romantic comedy When I rented The Very Thought of You at my local video store I wasn't expecting much, but what I found was a charming, funny, and romantic movie. Monica Potter and Joseph Feinnes, who play the leads in the movie, are both talented young actors who should be watched. the supporting cast, which includes Rufus Sewel is excellent as well, I also enjoyed how they presented the story so as to cause the watcher to be somewhat surprised at parts. All and all The Very Thought Of You is a movie that I consider a must rent, if not a must buy. A splendid surprise One night my older brother and I were looking for something to watch on cable. It has been a ritual for ever since I can remember to watch a GOOD movie (not something bad like a jim carrey movie no offense to anyone who likes those.....but they are just plain bad) we came across The Very Thought of You and decided that we might as well see what it was about. Both of us liked Monica Potter from Patch Adams and figured it may be worth it. The movie caught my attention and held it all the way through to the end. I myself even though I am a girl I dont really like chic flicks, but I must say this was one of the best movies that I have seen. It is a very nice story and makes you smile. It is a great movie, and is not very well known despite its greatness but if you are in the mood for a change of pace, I would DEFINATLY recommend it. (I', very sorry but I can't spell it's not in me so PLEASE dont laugh at my sad attempts!! :) you should see this though....it was GREAT!) Sorry Hollywood! This movie, which by the way is actually called "Martha meet Frank, Daniel and Lawrence" (too complicated for the American market???), Britains Daily Mail lables "The best romantic commedy EVER - and it's British!". Being no friend of Romantic commedies in general, I find myself not having anything to add to this. This is as un-Hollywood as can be, although it sports the usual Happy End with a kiss. But man, this is the first time I actually wanted this to happen... ;-) PPS: Just breezed through the reviews and noticed that some people found the plot implausible.(!) WELL, OF COURSE IT IS! But that's totally beside the point! How plausible is "Much Ado about Nothing"?? Doesn't make it any worse a play, now does it?
