It had a profound effect on my life and Michael, Hope, Nancy, Elliot, Melissa, Nancy and Gary have stayed with me 12 years later. I too have assembled a video library of all episodes but these are wearing out from repeated viewing. Please, please, please release this on DVD - I would pay any amount of money and have been waiting for ages. With the release of Once and Again, and My So-Called Life, it only makes sense to release Thirtysomething. My favorite drama series of all time. This is the show that won Emmys for Best Drama Series and countless acting awards for the actress who portrayed Nancy. What made thirtysomething so good? The insightful writing that contrasted the values of the hippies from the 60s to the morals of the yuppies from the 80s. Plus, the brilliant acting from the performers who portrayed Nancy, Elliot, Melissa, and the VERY UNDER-RATED Michael. Ken Olin, who portrayed Michael, should have won at least one Emmy for Best Actor. He did a terrific job reflecting his ambiguous feelings of selling out at the ad agency for the welfare of his family. Needless to say, thirtysomething had a profound effect on me. I don't think there's ever been a show like it on TV since. It was a shame that it ended after only 4 seasons. I guess a show of this quality didn't stand a chance to last on TV. But all will be forgiven if it's ever released on DVD. I'll be sure to buy all 4 seasons worth. Still Waiting... Still waiting for one of television's finest moments to appear on DVD.
